Eli's summer

Can you believe it's 2013 and I am just now writing about Eli's summer of 2012!!  Where did the time go?  I have been wanting to do this for some time since I have such fun pictures of Eli and his first soccer camp.  He was very excited and for this being his first time he really did do a good job.  What was hard for him in the beginning was Keith and I would cheer and also sit and yell for him to go after the ball and take it from the other team.  This made him just a little confused, since we are always telling him the opposite, that he needs to share and not take things from other people.  But after a few matches and a few talks from us telling him that it was the name of the game he started to understand.  Keith and I were really proud of him and he is excited to play again this summer.
This picture is of him and his coach.  It also shows the lovely jersey that he got to wear that looks like a dress on him.  At least he wasn't the only one all the other kids were drowning in their jerseys too.

Here he is kicking the ball down the field to try and score a goal.

Along with soccer this summer was his first swimming lessons.  Both Eli and Mckenna took swim lesson twice and each time they lasted two weeks.  It was a lot of driving but by the end of summer it was well worth it for Eli.  He was really swimming!  He was able to put his head in the water and kick his feet so that he could swim a short distance.  He was also able to hold his breath without plugging his nose.  This is a sad confession but even I can't do that!

In this picture he is doing his dips.  They hold their breath and go up and down in the water 10 times.

This was his first teacher and here they were teaching him to keep his feet out and kick to get back to the wall.

The tooth fairy was a very busy woman this summer with Eli.  Before school started he lost both his front teeth.  This is about the only picture I could get of him were you can see both of them gone.  I was kind of excited for his toothless school pictures but instead he didn't even open his mouth it was all a closed smile.  At least I have this one! :)

Finally here he is on his first day of school!  My handsome first grader!  Eli is doing so good in school and his teachers have nothing but wonderful things to say about him.  He makes his Mom and Dad very very proud!
